Luke has been a member of INSPIRE for about 3/4 years. Before that, he was a member of SOS athletics team, many of whom are now INSPIRE members. So, he has known them for 10 years. Luke continues to come to INSPIRE sessions because he likes sport and activities, and he gets along well with all the members. He considers them like family. He works all day indoors, and INSPIRE is a good way to keep him active and socialising with his friends. Luke likes running and jumping activities. His biggest challenge so far in sport has been pushing himself beyond his limits and managing his stamina, he always feels good after a workout.
Luke’s greatest achievement is his YouTube channel. He makes animations of a video game he likes called ‘Five Nights at Freddy’s’. It is a horror video game, but Luke makes the characters cute. He has made a series called Baby Foxy which is a tale about baby versions of the characters in Five Nights. He makes the animations first and then fits appropriate music to it. Luke’s channel has had over 500,00 followers and 197 million views, which is amazing. Each animation is between 3-6 minutes long on average, and takes a long time to create as it depends on what else he is doing and the length of the animation.
His channel ‘MiffedCrew’ became so popular on YouTube that they invited him to some of the top YouTube events eg ‘Vidcon’ where Youtubers gather to meet with their fans. He was a V.I.P. at that event. There were also creator workshops where Luke spoke about his YouTube work. During one of these events, he was booked into a 5 star hotel and bumped into Craig Revel Horwood, who is a judge on Strictly.
Since Luke went full time, the stats have gone down, so he has decided to work on a different channel called ‘MiffedLuke’. He speaks about his experience with hidden disabilities because he wants to raise awareness so others can know more about people with intellectual difficulties. Luke does this by telling stories about situations he has experienced; he talks directly into the camera and uses cartoons to emphasise what he wants to say. He would love to do some public speaking about this subject.
Apart from his YouTube channels, Luke likes playing video games, going to Pryzm’s special needs disco, dancing, socialising with friends including ones from INSPIRE, travelling to London, going to coffee shops and restaurants and on holiday. He enjoys creating his own music, cartoon characters, voice acting and singing.
Luke loves food, especially mac and cheese, Swedish meatballs, pizza, fresh food in Cyprus and any puddings. His favourite tv programmes are The Big Bang theory, Pinky and the Brain & Scooby Doo.
